Westport, Tiverton, Little Compton respond to home that catches fire due to lightning
During yesterday’s severe thunderstorm, a local home was damaged by a lightning strike.
According to the Little Compton Fire Department, at approximately 7:30 p.m. last night, LCFD was dispatched to a residence on Shaw Road for a house struck by lightening. A party called in a structure fire.
Apparatus arrived on scene to find fire showing from the roof of the house.
Mutual Aid from Tiverton Fire and Westport Fire came in for assistance.
A very quick stop was made by the responding crew which limited the damage.
No injuries were reported.
