Westport Police issue update concerning missing and suicidal man
Local police have issued an update concerning a missing suicidal man in the area Wednesday morning.
According to Westport Police, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Westport Police were dispatched to the area of 327 State Road to investigate a report of a missing and endangered male. Upon arrival, officers searched the immediate area and additional resources were called to assist in locating the male.
At approximately 1:48 p.m., the male was located and transported to a local hospital. According to Massachusetts State Police, the man was located in the woods, injured.
Assisting the police were Westport Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, K-9 Unit and Special Emergency Response Team, Dartmouth Police Drone Unit, Massachusetts Environmental Police and Bristol County Technical Rescue Team.
Westport Police stated that this was an isolated incident and there are no threats to the community.
