Westport Police arrest suspect after reported car break-ins and stolen tools
Police have arrested a suspect after local reported break-ins.
According to Westport Police, today, Westport Detectives arrested 49-year-old Richard Prudhomme for car breaks on Robert Street and tools stolen from a garage on American Legion Highway.
During the past few weeks there have been numerous reports of cars being broken into overnight. All of the vehicles were left unlocked. Detectives and patrol officers had been going door to door looking through surveillance footage in an attempt to obtain a suspect.
Westport PD wants to remind residents to lock their cars up at night.
