Westport Fourth of July Committee ready to celebrate with annual parade
Westport is ready to put on their annual 4th of July parade under new Committee President, Caitlin True Fay.
This year, the popular parade will take place on Tuesday, July 4th and will start promptly at 10 a.m.
Floats, antique cars, trucks, tractors and more will be featured.
The parade route begins at Central Village and proceeds north on Main Road ending at the old Westport High School at about noon.
Main Road is typically closed at approximately 9:00 a.m.
Line-Up and sign-up start at 8:00 a.m.
Spectators and participants should get there early before the road closure.
Floats lineup on Main Road near Perry’s Bakery.
Antique cars will line up in Beach Grove Cemetery entering from Hix Bridge Road.
This year, ribbons will be awarded for best antique cars, tractors, and floats.
The parade is privately funded by Westport Fourth of July Committee and donations are accepted.
