Westport beaches issued red flag warning after lifeguards make several rescues

The Westport Fire Department issued a warning on Friday afternoon.

According to the department, all Westport beaches are now flying a Red Flag due to strong currents and rough surf.

Horseneck Beach lifeguards have performed several rescues today.

WFD asks the public to follow the instructions of the lifeguards and if you do enter the water, do so carefully.
