Westport based Lafrance Hospitality expands portfolio acquiring local hotel; here are their plans

Lafrance Hospitality has announced the acquisition of the 70-room New Bedford Harbor Hotel, a landmark property situated along the historic waterfront in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This addition marks another step in Lafrance Hospitality’s continued growth and commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences throughout New England and beyond.

The New Bedford Harbor Hotel, recognized for its harbor views and convenient access to the city’s cultural and maritime attractions, will undergo a series of enhancements under Lafrance Hospitality’s ownership. Planned improvements will focus on elevating guest comfort, modernizing amenities, and preserving the unique character that has made the property a favorite among visitors to the South Coast.

The 70-room five-story boutique hotel currently features a 3,300 sq. ft. restaurant and bar (222 Union Restaurant and Bar) which is open to the public and hotel guests, and 5,100 sq. ft. of total event space.

The hotel will remain open during the transition, ensuring uninterrupted service for guests.
