Westport Animal Control, Westport Police respond to home after residents finding coyote inside
What would you do if you found a coyote in your home? A Fall River area home faced that question on Thursday.
Westport Animal Control received a call about a coyote that made its way into a north end residence through a basement window.
Animal Control and Westport Police Department went out and swiftly moved the animal out of the house.
The coyote looked to be experiencing mange and behavioral issues as it was in the house for several hours.
After reaching out to the state and Cape Wildlife, it was decided to humanely euthanize the animal and test for rabies due to it being inside the house for a long-extended period of time.
Animal Control thanked the resident for calling the office/ the police department about the situation and Westport Police for responding.
