Westport and Dartmouth firefighters extinguish blaze involving two vehicles, home
Westport firefighters responded to a reported structure fire on Forge Road just after 5:30 this morning.
According to WFD, the first due engine arrived to find two motor vehicles fully involved with flames spreading to the home’s exterior.
Firefighters were able to quickly knock down and contain the fire to the exterior, resulting in very minimal damage to the house’s interior.
A neighbor saw the fire and alerted the sleeping residents of the situation.
There were no injuries, as all residents and their pets were safely removed from the home.
Firefighters from Dartmouth Fire District 3 responded to the scene to assist.
The fire, which was investigated by members of the Westport Police & Fire Departments and troopers from the Mass State Police Fire Investigation Unit, is not considered suspicious.
Westport Fire thanked their mutual aid partners, dispatchers, and members of law enforcement for their assistance on the scene and during the investigation.
