The barber shop at 397 Robeson Street in Fall River has closed after the passing of business owner Chris Fastino.

The 58-year-old Fastino passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023. Born and raised in Fall River, Chris was the son of the late John Peter Fastino and the late Mary Jo (Bessette) Fastino, and the longtime companion of Maria Pacheco. He was also the former husband of Donna Morrissette.

Chris was a third-generation barber, succeeding his father “Pete The Barber” and becoming the owner of his family’s business, “Robeson St. Barbershop”. Chris was featured for having the oldest running barbershop in Fall River. Chris was an avid motorcycle rider, and a member of the Watuppa Boat Club. Most of all, Chris loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. Chris also enjoyed the companionship of his 3 dogs, Rage, Tulip, & Temporance.

Chris is also survived by his children: Justice Fastino, Courtney Morrissette, and Brandon Silva; grandchildren: Stella Wraith Fastino, Brielle Lima, Landen Aguiar, Cali Sky Silva, and Maeve Marie Silva.

Fastino’s daughter Courtney stated that the family has yet to decide what will happen with the barber shop.

“We haven’t decided yet. Still too soon. He just passed on the 16th. It’s been in my family since 1939. That’s a lot of years to just whisk away so as of right now we don’t know.”

Cremation services are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River.
