Warwick Police Officers save baby on unrelated call
Warwick PD may be making a name for themselves on the hit show Live PD, but they are grabbing headlines for an even better reason this weekend.
According to Captain Michael Lima, on May 10th at approximately 7:20 p.m., Officer Brian Holleran and Officer Anthony D’Abrosca were at the Kohl’s department store located at 650 Bald Hill Rd. for an unrelated call for service, when an adult female ran from the entrance of the store yelling, “we need help this baby is choking”. Both Officers ran to the woman and the 16 month old female infant. Officer Holleran observed that the infant’s lips were light blue and did not observe any signs of breathing. He immediately began CPR efforts, to include attempts to remove a possible airway obstruction. Officer Holleran’s efforts were successful and the infant began to breathe on her own again. She was monitored by Officer’s on scene until the Warwick Fire Department arrived and transported her to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
Thanks to Officer Holleran’s quick action the infant is expected to make a full recovery.
