Warning of dangerous rip currents and high surf issued for southern New England due to hurricane Erin
A warning for southern New England has been issued as a monster storm makes its way up the Atlantic Ocean.
According to the National Weather Service Boston, powerful hurricane Erin will move north and then northeast not directly impacting southern New England. However, it will result in dangerous rip currents and high surf conditions to ocean exposed beaches Tuesday through Friday.
If caught in a rip current:
-Relax, rip currents do not pull you under.
-Do not swim against the current.
-Swim out of the current, then to shore.
-If you cannot escape, float or tread water.
-If you need help, yell or wave for assistance.
