Walmart, North Providence Police Department, combine to replace kid’s stolen bicycle
A local Walmart and police department teamed up to make a young person’s day.
After teenager Joe Dekonski had his bicycle stolen in North Providence while out running errands, North Providence Chief Alfredo Ruggiero Jr. reached out to his friends at the Silver Spring Street Walmart in Providence.
Hearing what happened, Walmart provided a free bicycle to Dekonski, according to Ruggiero.
“Thank you, Zach, Luther and Tony, for your help and generosity! Thanks to you a young man has a new ride!”
Dekonski’s mother took to social media to express her appreciation.
“I can’t thank these men and Walmart enough! It goes to show that even with all the craziness that’s happening these days, there are still some kind, generous people in this world. Thank you again!”
