Volunteer, youth coach, former City of Fall River dispatcher, dies unexpectedly
A local man known throughout the Fall River area and beyond has passed away.
According to an obituary, 50-year-old Mark Massa of Lakeville died unexpectedly on Friday, at St. Luke’s Hospital.
The obituary stated that Massa “proudly served in the US Army Reserves. He worked for the last decade as a talented Master Electrician. He served the City of Fall River for many years as a police/fire/rescue dispatcher. He gave back to his community in many ways including coaching youth basketball, volunteering at Camp Welch in Assonet and volunteering at his parish, St. John Neumann.”
Mark’s wake will take place on Thursday, Sept. 11th from 4-8 P.M. and Friday, Sept. 12th from 9-10 A.M. at the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd., E. Freetown, MA.
