Visiting a friend turns into $1 million Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket win
They say it is always good to surround yourself with good friends. In this instance, it turned out to be lucrative.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Jose Carrasco of Corona, New York is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$100X Cash” $10 instant ticket game.
He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). Carrasco, a baker who has been in Massachusetts for the past week visiting a friend, said he has no plans yet for his winnings.
He purchased his winning ticket at American Food Markets, 1187 Blue Hill Ave. in Mattapan. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
