Violent crime in Fall River rose 17%, robberies up 26% in 2025
Seven months into 2026, we finally get to look at the 2025 Fall River Police Department’s crime statistics. The headline number is total violent crime rose 17% under Chief Kelly Furtado’s first year as FRPD Chief.
Rapes were up 14% (65 total), robberies up 26% (115 total), aggravated assaults were up 16% (519) and murders stayed flat at three total. These are the stats that aren’t reported in the FRPD’s month reports posted on Facebook.
Burglaries were down 18% (189 total), motor vehicle thefts were down 7% (155 total) and arsons were down 21% (11 total), but total property crimes were up nearly 3% (1,525 total).
