VIDEO: Massachusetts State Police use multiple units to locate missing elderly man
The Massachusetts State Police regularly helps municipal partners in time-sensitive search and rescue operations by augmenting their local capabilities.
Recently, the Air Wing, K-9, and Drone Units supported the Andover Police Department’s successful search for a missing elderly man.
Officials feared for the man’s safety if he remained outside in cold temperatures for an extended period of time.
Troopers in the sky located the man in the woods adjacent to a residential area and guided partners on the ground to his location.
First responders coordinated medical transport to a local hospital where the man was treated for hypothermia.
