Victim’s name released in fatal head-on crash in Dartmouth that seriously injured two others
DARTMOUTH, MA – The name of a man killed in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon has been identified.
According to Dartmouth Police, just after 3:45 p.m., Dartmouth Police, along with other emergency personnel, responded to the area of 242 Chase Road regarding a head-on collision involving a 2006 Cadillac Seville and a 2015 GMC Acadia.
As a result of the crash, the male operator of the Cadillac, 75-year-old John Aylward of Dartmouth, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, where he was pronounced dead.
The 82-year-old male operator of the GMC, as well as his 75-year-old female passenger, were also transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, where they are currently being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by both the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit of Bristol County.
