Authorities have released the victim’s name in a serious crash on Friday.
According to the East Bridgewater Police Department, at approximately 3 p.m., East Bridgewater Police and Fire were dispatched to a report of a crash in the area of 698 Bedford St. (Route 18). Upon arrival, first responders determined that a single vehicle left the roadway, crashed into multiple objects and rolled over.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Christopher Dobbins, Age 28, of Whitman.
Dobbins, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, had to be extricated from inside by members of the East Bridgewater Fire Department, but ultimately died as a result of his injuries. The vehicle had been traveling southbound on Route 18 prior to the crash near the intersection of Route 106.
Condolences and heartbreak were pouring in on Saturday as friends and family remembered Chris as a great friend and a special, one-of-a-kind human being.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the East Bridgewater Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the Plymouth County Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
