Victim’s name released after vehicle crash into Plymouth County home turns fatal
BROCKTON – The victim in a fatal motor vehicle crash has been identified, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz and Hanson Police Chief Michael Casey have announced.
At just after 6:15 p.m. Monday evening, the homeowner at 481 High Street contacted Hanson Police and Fire to respond to his residence where a pickup truck had collided into the front of his home. Upon arrival, Hanson Police Officers and Firefighters located a Chevrolet pickup truck that had rolled onto the driver’s side and crashed through a bay window in front of the home. The driver, the sole occupant of the motor vehicle, was unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle, and firefighters immediately began extrication efforts.
After a lengthy extrication involving hydraulic rescue tools, the operator was removed from the vehicle and transported to Brockton Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as 58-year-old Brian Crowley of Hanson.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hanson Police Department, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, with assistance from the MSP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
