Victim seriously injured gets blood transfusion on site after getting pinned between house and car in Brockton
A new program once again brought life-saving care to a victim.
According to Canton Firefighters IAFF Local 1580, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, the Blood Transfusion Unit responded to assist Brockton Fire and Brewster Ambulance Service at 810 N. Montello Street.
Once on scene, crews located a patient who had been pinned between a house and a car.
The patient sustained serious injuries that required the starting of a transfusion and transport to a trauma center.
The first transfusion in this program was performed in late June and has responded to several incidents particularly vehicle crashes.
The incident is under investigation.
