Utility system improvement work to cause several road closures in Fall River
Liberty will be conducting (weather permitting) roadwork on Saturday, September 30 due to system improvement work. While we strive to avoid weekend work, this approved Saturday work is necessitated by recent weather-related delays and the need to complete the work before the upcoming winter heating season. The work will result in several streets being temporarily closed from 7am – 4pm. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes during this time. Detour signs will be in place, and police detail officers will assist in keeping traffic and pedestrians moving and safe. The streets impacted are:
-Eagle Street between Columbia St. and Ferry St.
-Hill Street between Locust St and Bullock St.
-King Street between Globe St. and Chace St.
-O’ Grady Street between Pine St. and Bank St.
“We want to thank city residents, businesses and commuters for their understanding and patience as we work to replace aging infrastructure,” said Jim Carey, Senior Manager of Government Affairs. “These construction projects will strengthen our system so we can continue to provide safe, reliable service for generations to come.”
