UPDATE: Person of interest in multiple city shootings arrested after woman shot in Fall River

Fall River Police have arrested a teen and recovered a firearm after a Saturday shooting.
At just after 2:30 p.m,, Patrol Officers responded to a report of a female suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of South Main Street and Slade Street. The suspect had fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
According to police, Officers quickly developed a description and potential identity of the shooter. Detectives familiar with the individual began canvassing known locations and ultimately located and arrested the suspect. No firearm was initially found on the suspect or at the scene.
Through the use of various personal surveillance cameras, Patrol Officers were able to track the suspect’s movements and locate a discarded bag containing a loaded Glock 31 Gen 4. The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile and is also a person of interest in multiple shootings within the city.
The victim was treated at a local trauma center for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
