ANDOVER– Chief Patrick Keefe reports that the Andover Police Department along with the Andover Fire Department responded to a call for an unresponsive juvenile male who was still submerged in Field Pond, located in Harold Parker State Forrest in close proximity to 6 Farrwood Drive.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, first responders arrived at the shoreline to find several male juveniles who were on the opposite shoreline yelling to them, attempting to direct them toward where the juvenile male was last observed prior to going under water. First responders entered the water utilizing a paddle board and personal floatation devices and made their way out to where the juvenile male was last observed. They were able to locate the juvenile male approximately 25 feet from shore, submerged in approximately 10-12 feet of water. First responders were able to pull the male from the water and place him onto the paddle board and immediately begin life saving measures.

The male was brought back to shore where they were met by additional first responders, to include Paramedics from Lawrence General Hospital. The male was later transported by ambulance to Lawrence General Hospital, and shortly thereafter, transported via Boston Medflight to a Boston hospital for further treatment.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. There is no additional information regarding the juvenile male’s condition available at this time.
