Unlicensed 20-year-old woman facing several charges after crash into Barnstable police cruiser causes multiple injuries
A Cape Cod woman is facing multiple charges after a weekend incident, police say.
According to police, at just after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, Barnstable Police Officers were dispatched to a house on Lincoln Road in Hyannis for a silent 911 call.
While officers were investigating this incident, 20-year-old Gabriela Prodelik, of Hyannis, crashed her sedan into one of the officer’s parked cruisers.
The Barnstable Police cruiser was unoccupied at the time of the accident, however Prodelik and her 24-year-old passenger sustained injuries from the crash requiring them to be transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Hyannis Fire Department personnel. Both party’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
Based on the investigation into the crash, Prodelik was issued a citation at Cape Cod Hospital for Operating Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Speeding: Rate of Speed Greater Than Reasonable.
Prodelik will be summonsed into the Barnstable District Court to be arraigned on the charges on the citation.
