Typical trip to market turns into big multi-state lottery win in Massachusetts
A trip to a Massachusetts market turned out to be very lucrative as it resulted in a big lottery win recently.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Cranfield Homesteaders Trust of Quincy has claimed a $25,000 a year for life prize won in the multi-state Lucky for Life drawing.
The trust, represented by trustee Natalie Logan, claimed the prize at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. The trust selected the annuity option for its prize and received the first of 20 annual payments of $25,000 (before taxes).
The winning ticket was purchased at Teaticket Market, 125 Teaticket Hwy in Teaticket. The store receives a $5,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
The final Lucky for Life drawing will take place on Saturday, February 21st. The game will be replaced by a new national draw game, Millionaire for Life, launching on Sunday, February 22nd. The new game will feature a grand prize of $1 million a year for life and a second-tier prize of $100,000 a year for life.
