Two teens shot, another injured, after Bristol County shooting leads to arrest
TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that left two people with gunshot wounds and resulted in the arrest of a juvenile on an outstanding warrant.
At approximately 11:06 p.m. on Sunday, Taunton Police responded to the area of Adams Street following multiple reports of gunshots.
Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had crashed into a fire hydrant and had apparently been struck by gunfire. The dislodged hydrant caused significant flooding in the area.
Officers quickly secured the scene and began an extensive investigation.
Three individuals were transported to local hospitals. A 16-year-old juvenile and a 19-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds that appeared to be non-life-threatening. A second 16-year-old juvenile suffered injuries related to the crash.
During the investigation, officers recovered two firearms believed to be connected to the incident. Multiple residences in the area were also struck by gunfire. No residents were injured.
The second 16-year-old juvenile was determined to have an active warrant for his arrest related to a shooting in Taunton on Jan. 16, 2025, and was placed under arrest. The juvenile was transported for medical treatment before being held on the warrant.
The Taunton Police Department was assisted by local mutual aid partners and the Massachusetts State Police.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
