Two suspects allegedly had their car towed to Burger King after robbing Stop & Shop, according to police.

According to Dave Procopio of the Massachusetts State Police, at 8:45 a.m., Massachusetts State Police Troop H patrols and a K9 team responded to North Attleborough to assist local police with locating suspects who committed an armed robbery at the Stop & Shop at 406 East Washington St. The suspects, a male and a female, fled in a white Acura with a Massachusetts registration.

Approximately an hour later MSP Troop D learned that the suspects had their vehicle towed and brought to the Burger King and gas station at Route 24 northbound in Bridgewater. As Troopers from Troop D closed in to the service plaza, the male suspect, later identified as Justin W. O’Connell, 36, of Brockton, carjacked a Toyota Camry livery sedan and fled. The female suspect, Valerie Proulx, 41, of Brockton, was apprehended at the service plaza.

Troopers pursued the stolen Camry into West Bridgewater, where the suspect crashed at Crescent at Spring Streets. Troopers took the suspect into custody at the crash scene.

O’Connell and Proulx both were booked at the State Police-Middleborough Barracks. While at the barracks, both claimed to need medical attention and both were transported to an area hospital.
