Two people seriously injured, 1 arrested, after multi-vehicle Rhode Island crash
Two people were injured, one of which was arrested, after a serious crash in Rhode Island early Saturday morning.
According to police, at 3:30 a.m., the Coventry Police Department and the Hopkins Hill Fire Department responded to the area of 109 Hopkins Hill Rd., for a report of a motor vehicle collision with a vehicle on its side.
Upon arrival, officers located 2 male occupants of a vehicle that went off of the roadway and struck 2 parked vehicles in a driveway.
The operator, identified as 32-year-old John Carvalho, of West Warwick, was subsequently arrested for DUI following an on-scene investigation.
Both occupants were transported to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the Coventry Police Department’s Detective Division and Collision Reconstruction Team, which may result in additional charges.
