Two pedestrians killed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts within minutes of each other

A Rhode Island man has died in a weekend pedestrian collision.

According to police, on Saturday at 9:35 p.m.., the Coventry Police Department and Central Coventry Fire Department responded to the area of 2091 Nooseneck Hill Rd., for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Upon arrival, Officers located a deceased male on the side of the road. The male was subsequently identified as 63-year-old Michael Danielson of Coventry.

The motorist remained on scene and is cooperating with Police.

The accident remains under investigation by the Coventry Police Department’s Detective Division and Accident Reconstruction Team.

Minutes before this incident, a MassDOT worker was struck and killed by a vehicle while cleaning debris on Route 24.
