Two men found dead in Rhode Island waters on Monday
Tragedy struck twice on Monday as two men were found dead in area waters.
According to Lt. Christopher Perreault, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the Warren Police Department received a call for a report of an unresponsive individual in the Warren River by the shoreline. Upon officers responding to the area behind the Warren town docks, a white male in his 50’s was located and confirmed to be deceased. With the assistance of the Warren Fire Department, the male was recovered.
The Rhode Island State Medical Examiner’s Office was contacted and later responded to the scene and took custody of the decedent. At this time, a cause of death has not been determined. Warren Police Detectives along with the Medical Examiner’s Office are conducting the investigation.
While the identity of the deceased male is known, Perreault stated that it is currently not being released pending notification to next of kin.
Also Monday, authorities identified a man that went missing and was found deceased in a river.
