Two Massachusetts police officers, a mother and a father, help deliver baby boy on Christmas
Christmas morning brought an unforgettable and truly special moment for the Stoughton Police Department.
According to the department, at 6:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a female in active labor inside a vehicle on Glen Echo Blvd. Sergeant Medeiros, a dad, was the first to arrive on scene. Moments later, Officer Guzman, a mom, arrived to assist.
The mother-to-be was in the backseat of the vehicle and ready to deliver. Officer Guzman calmly directed her to push, while Sgt. Medeiros assisted in delivering the baby. After the baby boy was born, Sgt. Medeiros cleared his mouth and nose, placed him on his mother’s belly, and gently rubbed his back—moments later, the newborn let out his first cry.
At 6:17 a.m., a healthy baby boy was born—right on Christmas morning.
The mother and her newborn son were transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center-South where they continued to receive care and are doing well.
