Two Massachusetts police officer brothers die unexpectedly within 17 months of each other
The Boston Police Department has announced the passing of one of their own just a year and a half after his police officer brother died.
Active-duty Boston Police Officer Brian MacLean was a 17-year veteran of the BPD who served admirably in a number of assignments including: B-3, C-6, B-2, D-4, E-18, Operations and Licensing during his career before dying suddenly.
Boston Police issued the following statement after MacLean’s passing.
“Brian will be greatly missed by his friends and colleagues here at the Boston Police Department as we send our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this tremendously sad and difficult time.”
On April 6th, 2022, active-duty Boston Police Officer Robert J. MacLean died suddenly, the brother of Brian.
Officer Robert MacLean was a 16-year veteran of the BPD who served in several different assignments through the course of his career.
A cause of death was not released for either officer.
