Two Massachusetts men held without bail pending dangerousness hearing over brutal killing of pet rabbit

Two Massachusetts men are facing disturbing charges.

According to police, Gabriel Nava, 20, of Chicopee and Alexey Dimoglo, 20, of West Springfield, were taken into custody Thursday on warrants issued by Westfield District Court for an incident that took place on November 27 in Westfield.

During the incident, the two men are suspected of brutally killing a pet rabbit during a party by slamming it on the ground and then throwing it outside. Parts of the incident were captured on video.

The two men were not known to the hosts of the party.

Both were arraigned at Westfield District Court after their arrest on charges of cruelty to an animal and malicious killing of a domestic animal.

Nava and Dimoglo pled not guilty and are being held pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Monday.

Westfield Police thanked the MSP Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS), Springfield PD, Chicopee PD, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, and West Springfield PD for their assistance in taking the two suspects into custody.
