Trial set to begin for Fall River high school teacher placed on leave after child rape allegations
A trial is set to begin Monday in Fall River Superior Court concerning charges of aggravated rape of a child by a Fall River teacher.
In May of 2020, a then 30-year-old Tory Meneses, a Durfee math teacher at the school since 2015, was put on paid administrative leave after a police investigation began concerning his conduct.
In August of 2020, Meneses was arraigned on Aggravated Rape of a Child, Ten Year Age Difference (two counts) and Statutory Rape of a Child, Mandated Reporter. He pled not guilty, and bail was set at $10,000 cash which he posted.
Further details on the case were not released by police due to the nature of the charges.
According to the Boston Globe, Meneses is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
