Transformed Somerset train set to open next week to satisfy your palette and quench your thirst

A new restaurant is expected to open next week at a Somerset landmark.
The Rehoboth Baking Co. renovated the historic dining car at 938 Lees River Avenue and is calling the eatery Railway Pie.
The menu focuses on handmade, health-conscious fare.
Expect over a dozen craft pizzas in styles such as New Haven thin-crust and Detroit thick-pan, made with organic flour and sourdough for gluten-sensitive diners.
Sandwiches served on homemade ciabatta rolls include over a dozen options such as Italian beef, smokin’ butt (pulled pork with barbecue, bacon, and cheddar), honey bee (grilled chicken with avocado, pepperjack, and hot honey), chicken parmesan, pink cutlet, and meatball.

Other highlights include salads with local produce (caprese chopt Italian, blat, al greco and caesar), a few pasta dishes including meatballs in sauce, chicken alfredo, chicken parm, and chicken with pink vodka sauce, and desserts made in house such as Boston cream puffs, whoopie pies, brownies and cookies.
A wide array of beverages will be featured including curated wines, beers, refreshers, locally roasted coffees, and fresh brewed teas.

RBC and Railway Pie is owned by Paul Booras and according to their website, plans to open on Friday July 25th.
While the train is a beloved structure in Somerset, the location has recently seen several restaurants occupy the space.
Choo-Chew announced in January of this year that they would be closing their doors. Missing Link BBQ closed in the summer of 2024. In November of 2022, The Railway Cafe announced on social media that the restaurant would no longer be in business at the train.
Railway Pie will be open 5 days a week. Sunday/Wednesday/Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday/Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
