Tragedy has struck for a second time for a Massachusetts family after a 14-year-old girl was fatally struck by a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority train in Worcester near the 100 block of Atlas Street on the Framingham/Worcester Line on Thursday.

According to multiple reports, MBTA Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan stated the preliminary investigation suggests the girl was positioned within the tracks’ gauge and was hit by the train, resulting in her death at the scene.

No foul play is suspected.

The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. when the girl, who was part of a group of teens, trespassed on the railway right-of-way.

Family members say Bella Brady is the deceased.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, “Bella was full of life—kind, funny, and deeply loved by all who knew her. She had dreams, passions, and a future that ended far too soon. Her sudden and tragic passing has left her family and community in shock and deep sorrow.”

The tragedy comes less than 2 years after the long-time boyfriend of Bella’s mother died in August of 2023.

Transit Police, along with the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, are investigating the incident.
