Traffic stop for snow on vehicle by Massachusetts State Police on Route 24 results in seizure of stolen gun

According to Massachusetts State Police, shortly after starting their dayshift, a Trooper assigned to the Middleboro Barracks conducted a traffic stop on Route 24 in Raynham. The driver of the vehicle failed to remove a large amount of snow on the rear window prior to getting on the road.
During the stop, the Trooper approached the vehicle to speak with the driver and requested his license and registration. While the driver was retrieving his registration from the glovebox the Trooper observed the handle of a firearm inside.
After confirming that none of two occupants had a license to carry firearms, the Trooper removed them from the vehicle. The Trooper conducted a thorough investigation on scene and learned that the firearm was reported stolen from Ohio. The driver was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Middleboro Barracks for booking.
The driver’s name was not released.
