Town of Somerset announces sudden passing of Somerset’s Water and Sewer Superintendent Paul Sylvia
Town Administrator Mark Ullucci on behalf of the Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners and the Town of Somerset, has announced the passing of Somerset’s Water and Sewer Superintendent, Paul Sylvia.
Sylvia passed away suddenly on November 21st at age 74.
Ullucci stated that “over the last four years, Paul’s leadership, understanding, and dedication to his work, brought about countless infrastructure improvements, and an elevated work environment for all of his employees. Paul was a reassuring presence in such a difficult profession. His dedication to the Town of Somerset will forever be felt throughout this community, and we will always be grateful. Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul’s entire family during this difficult time. “
Somerset Selectman Jamison Souza also issued a statement.
“Last night’s call from the town administrator and the chair of the water and sewer commission brought devastating news: superintendent Paul Sylvia’s sudden passing. Yet even in grief, we find solace in the profound impact Paul had on our community. His selfless devotion to our water and sewer departments has created a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. As we rally around his family during this difficult time, we remember Paul’s extraordinary spirit and the countless lives he touched. The town of Somerset’s heartfelt sympathies go out to Paul’s family as we collectively mourn his passing and celebrate his remarkable life.”
