The Fall River area community is coming together to help a family known to many.

Tamie Salpietro, who runs TJ’s Music at 347 South Main Street with her husband Todd, has organized a GoFundMe fundraiser after the wife of a man entrenched at TJs for over a decade was seriously injured in a car crash on Thursday.

“I am raising funds for a dear friend, Greg Faris. I’m sure many of you have had the pleasure of meeting Greg if you’ve ever been to TJ’s Music in the last 15 years. Whether he fixed your guitar or amp or gave you some valuable tips on using your gear, he’s always been there for us.”

Salpietro states that Greg’s wife Tracy was involved in a serious crash at Care 1 Nursing Home in Randolph where she works.

“While she was outside of work, she was hit by a car. She was immediately taken to Boston and underwent hours of surgery. The injuries she sustained are severe – compound fractures in both legs, a shattered pelvis, a section of her intestines had to be removed, a damaged bladder, and internal bleeding. She still has several more surgeries to go through next week and will be in a medically induced coma until they are finished.”

Salpietro described Tracy as “an amazing person – a kind mother, wife, daughter, boss, and friend. She has a passion for nature and animals, and she’s a dedicated nurse. Now, they have a long and tough road ahead of them. Without their usual source of income, they will need a helping hand to stay afloat.”

The couple are Fall River natives and live in Tiverton.
