Tiverton woman arrested in Wednesday afternoon crash
A Tiverton woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after crashing her car into a guard rail.
According to Detective Lieutenant Michael Arnold, at approximately 2:47 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of West Main Road in the vicinity of Raytheon for an erratic operator. While searching the area, officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of Route 24 North and Freeborn Street in Portsmouth. The vehicle had left the lane of travel and collided with the guard rail.
Leslie Lord, 41, failed standardized field sobriety tests and preliminary breath test on scene. Lord was charged with suspicion of DUI and refusal of a chemical breath test.
As a precaution Lord was taken to a local hospital and later released.
Lord was arraigned before a Justice of the Peace Wednesday night at Portsmouth Police Headquarters and was released.
