Tiverton Police urging others to not donate to Gofundme campaign
Police are warning the public about a GoFundMe page circulating.
It was reported on social media that Ocean Side Honey’s bee yards had been hit by vandals and had tipped over all of their hives and doused them with diesel fuel leaving 5.5 million bees gone.
Tiverton Police is investigating the claim.
Tiverton Police released a statement:
“Good afternoon Tiverton. We have received several calls concerning claims of damage to beehives located in town. The alleged victims have started various fundraising efforts via social media and go fund me. We are questioning the legitimacy of these claims. We are advising people to not donate to this cause until a complete investigation can be conducted and the allegations verified.”
The page has so far raised over $750.
