Tiverton Police Department officers donate food, heating oil, gifts, to those in need
They say it is better to give than to receive and Tiverton Police officers take that to heart.
According to the Tiverton Police Department, IBPO Local 406 (Tiverton Police Officers Union) donated $2000 dollars in groceries to the East Bay Community Action Program, as well as $500 in oil to help heat the homes of individuals and our seniors, who may have difficulty doing so this winter.
TPD thanked George’s Gas, and the many other businesses in town for allowing them to place donation boxes for Operation: Blue Santa gift collection.
Many high school seniors and juniors also came out to help organize and deliver the Tiverton Police Department’s Santa for Seniors gift bags.
TPD recognized many donations they received by the 4th grade classes at Fort Barton Elementary School (the kids decorated the gift bags personally and also helped organize the many bags they donated). Judy Brogan also made 51 beautifully crafted gift baskets for seniors in town.
PD also issued a big thank you to Bryan, Jamie and Taylor Sanford, Cheryl Paul and Zack, Frank Amorin long with Steve and Mary Fisher for their help in making the operation a success.
Kudos to Tiverton Police and community members for making Christmas a little brighter for area residents.
