Fall River area residents now have a free place to skate and play hockey and it took a man from Tiverton to get it done.

Ryan Souza took a trip to Kennedy Park Wednesday with his son Ry to help him get some free ice time as he plays junior varsity ice hockey for Diman.

“I love to play myself! Makes me feel like a kid again.”

Souza stated that due to the snow received and others not taking care of the ice properly, the rink needed a good amount of work.

The duo spent 2 1/2 hours pouring water and making modifications to the ice so not only they, but others would have the use of the rink for free.

Souza is hoping folks will spread the word that the ice is ready but to also take care of it so it can be used by all.
