Tiverton, Fall River, Portsmouth Fire Departments among those that responded to 3-alarm fire that ripped through duplex
Multiple local fire departments battled massive flames at a residence on Friday evening.
Just after 5:45 p.m. a call came into dispatch for what turned out to be a 3-alarm house fire at 29 Blaisdell Avenue in Tiverton.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire and a fully engulfed two-story wood-frame home.
Scanner transmissions stated that the fire was due to a cooking mishap but has not been confirmed by the Tiverton Fire Department.
All occupants were reportedly out of the home safely.
Mutual aid was requested from nearby departments, including Fall River, which sent Engine 5, Ladder 2, Heavy Rescue 1, and Car 3 to the scene. Portsmouth also responded.
In addition to the extensive damage to the home where the fire originated, exterior heat damage could also be seen on a neighboring home.
