THRIVE Fall River, with help from community partners, supporting the unhoused and vulnerable populations

While homelessness can be a complex problem, there isn’t a shortage of Fall River area organizations trying to help, including this group of volunteers.

THRIVE for Humanity, based in Fall River, is a nonprofit organization focused on supporting the unhoused and vulnerable populations.

Their mission, encapsulated in the acronym THRIVE (Turning Human Realities into Valuable Empowerment), centers on breaking cycles of homelessness by building bridges and empowering communities.

THRIVE collaborates with several local partners to provide direct aid, such as food and outdoor equipment for the homeless. For example, in 2020, THRIVE partnered with Spectrum Lighting Inc. and Relentlessly InC. to distribute $5,000 worth of winter tents, sleeping bags, tarps, and mats to those in need, addressing shelter capacity limitations in the city.

THRIVE also engages in broader community support, working hand-in-hand with other organizations to ensure resources are personalized and effectively allocated.

Blessed Trinity PNCC and Father Rob are a frequent partner of THRIVE and just yesterday “The Kindness Kitchen”, Sandy Henrique-Greenwood and husband George, provided free fruits and veggies at 620 Plymouth Ave (Revival Church For The Nations) until they were all gone.

If you want to volunteer with THRIVE or use their services, you can learn more on their Facebook page THRIVE.
