Three Taunton men arrested, two held, after $50,000 cash, guns stolen in daylight robbery of residence

TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department recently arrested three Taunton men following a safe and gun burglary.
On Monday, Jan. 13, a Winthrop Street resident reported a burglary to Taunton Police. The victim told police that approximately $50,000 in cash and two firearms were stolen from a safe in their residence.
Three suspects were identified as a result of an investigation conducted by detectives assigned to the Taunton Police Department’s Major Crime Unit (MCU).
Following the execution of search warrants, two of the three defendants were also charged with several drug offenses.
36-year-old Jonathan Hatch of Taunton was arrested and charged with:

Fentanyl Trafficking (more than 10 grams)
Methamphetamine Trafficking (less than 200 grams)
37-year-old Dewayne Leo Rodrigues of Taunton was arrested and charged with:
Breaking & Entering Daytime for Felony
Larceny From Building
Larceny of Firearm
Cocaine Trafficking (more than 36 grams, less than 100 grams)
Fentanyl Trafficking (more than 10 grams)
Methamphetamine Trafficking (less than 200 grams)
34-year-old Kurt Vachon of Taunton was arrested and charged with:
Breaking & Entering Daytime for Felony
Larceny From Building
Larceny of Firearm
During a search of a Buick Regal owned by Hatch, police found a backpack containing approximately $25,100 in cash, 90 grams of cocaine, 109 grams of small blue pills believed to be pressed fentanyl, and 159 grams of small orange/pink pills believed to be pressed methamphetamine.
The backpack and its contents were seized as evidence.
All three suspects were arrested on February 3rd without incident and were held without bail pending dangerousness. Rodrigues has since been released on personal recognizance.
