Massachusetts State Police are investigating after three people were shot in the area of a Massachusetts beach.

According to Dave Procopio of the Massachusetts State Police, the first shooting, which occurred at approximately 7:11 p.m. in the area of 123 Centennial Ave., located approximately two blocks from Revere Beach. The victim in that shooting is a 17-year-old female who suffered a gunshot wound to her lower body. Her injury is believed to be non-life threatening. She was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she remained overnight.

Preliminary investigation suggests the shooting occurred during a large fight and shots were fired into a group of people. It is possible that the teenage female was not the intended victim. No one has been charged in the shooting thus far; the investigation by State Police and Revere Police is active.

Procopio stated that the second shooting occurred at approximately 8:05 p.m. on Revere Beach Boulevard in the vicinity of the bathhouse across from 63 Boulevard. Two victims were injured in that shooting.

A 51-year-old woman suffered gunshot wounds to her legs and was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she remains tonight. Her injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. The investigation indicates that she was not the intended victim in this shooting.

A 17-year-old male was grazed by a gunshot in this incident. He declined to be transported to a hospital. The investigation is ongoing to determine if he was the intended victim.

Several juveniles have been detained and were being interviewed Sunday night, but no one has been charged in connection with the shooting. That investigation is also active and is being conducted by State Police and Revere Police.

Investigators have recovered ballistics evidence.

Whether the shootings are connected is part of the ongoing investigation.

Police are also investigating a shooting at a Cape Cod beach parking lot that left one injured.
