Three sent to trauma center, driver cited, after multi-vehicle rollover crash in Fall River
Several people were injured after a morning collision in Fall River.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at just before 8:45 a.m., on Friday, units responded to a reported motor vehicle collision with rollover at the intersection of Bedford Street and Troy Streets.
Upon arrival, officers located a Chevrolet Colorado which had rolled onto its passenger side as a result of a collision with a Toyota Highlander. With the assistance of the Fall River Fire Department, the operator of the Chevy Colorado was removed from the vehicle.
During his investigation, Officer Wayne Custadio, discovered that the Toyota Highlander was traveling West on Bedford Street. When the operator approached the intersection of Bedford Street and High Street she failed to stop at the red traffic signal, causing her to strike the Chevrolet Colorado which was traveling North on Troy St. through the intersection.
Three individuals were transported to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Pereira stated that the operator of the Toyota Highlander was cited for failure to yield at the traffic signal.
