Three people injured after Rhode Island senior citizen driver strikes senior citizen in wheelchair
Three people were injured after a Rhode Island man who was trying to park his car accidently stepped on the gas.
The South Kingstown Police Department is investigating a crash Wednesday morning that occurred in the parking lot of the YMCA at 165 Broad Rock Road, South Kingstown.
Preliminary reports show that a senior citizen driver struck another senior citizen in a wheelchair that was being pushed by a woman. The vehicle also hit the building, causing minor damage.
All three were transported to the hospital.
No criminal charges have been filed.
According to WJAR 10, all three people involved are members of the YMCA and the incident appeared to be a freak accident.
