The Fall River Zoning Board of Appeals will consider several proposals at its November 19th meeting that, if approved, would add 13 new residential units while converting 4 existing commercial spaces into housing.

1732 South Main Street

One application from Resendes Residential LLC seeks a variance to divide the property at 1732 South Main Street into three lots and construct three triplex buildings, with one building on each lot. The request would allow a total of nine residential dwelling units in a Local Business (B-L) zoning district. The applicant is also seeking relief from minimum lot area, side-yard setback, and other dimensional requirements, along with a special permit for parking-related modifications.

A second application from Russell E. Victor requests a variance to convert three commercial spaces into three residential apartment units at 186-188 East Main Street, bringing the total units on the property to seven. The applicant is also seeking a special permit for relief from parking requirements under Section 86-445 of the zoning ordinance. The property is located in a Local Business (B-L) zoning district.

A third application on the agenda, from an applicant represented by Jeffrey Tallman of Northeast Engineers & Consultants, seeks to convert the second floor of an existing commercial building at 189 Durfee Street into one residential apartment unit in a Neighborhood Shopping (B-N) and Arts Overlay District, along with a special permit to waive off-street parking requirements.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the first-floor Hearing Room at Government Center.
